It is with great sadness that HMICS reports that one of our past HM Chief Inspectors, Mr Alexander Morrison CVO, QPM, has passed away at the age of 90 on Sunday 8 July 2018 in Dun Eisdean Care Home, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis.
Mr Morrison joined the Metropolitan Police Service in 1948 and ended his policing career as the HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary in Scotland from 1983 until 1988.
