HMICS is a member of the Independent Advisory Group set up in April 2020 to review Police Scotland's use of temporary powers provided by coronavirus regulations. HMICS supported the work of the IAG by carrying out interviews with frontline police officers, supervisors and call handlers to get their perspective on using the new legislation. During the first week in June, we carried out 54 interviews with officers and staff from different parts of Scotland. The summary of these interviews was included in the report to the SPA Board, and is also published here.
