Maggie Pettigrew was appointed as a Lead Inspector in September 2022. Maggie has an extensive background in policing, having joined Tayside Police in 1991. She served in a variety of operational and detective roles across Tayside. Working with the National Criminal Intelligence Service and UK Intelligence Agencies she spent 4 years in London working to disrupt Human trafficking gangs and the importation of drugs to the UK through Eastern Europe.  On her return and on promotion to Inspector she was posted to Highland Perthshire based in Pitlochry before moving to Perth.

She became a Critical Incident Commander in the Force Control Room undertaking the role of Tactical Firearms Commander and duty officer. Following the formation of Police Scotland and on promotion to Chief Inspector Maggie moved back to operational policing becoming Western Division Area Commander.

On promotion to Superintendent she moved to C3 Division where she assumed the Operations portfolio. During this period she was involved in the transformation and rationalisation of the Force Control rooms.

In 2016 she became the Operational Superintendent in Central Division based in Stirling where she led on the introduction of public service teams improving service delivery. She moved to Highlands and Islands Division in December 2020 where she was key in the introduction of its local Police Mountain Rescue Team. Maggie has significant experience in firearms command, football and event management including T in The Park, Ryder Cup, Soheim Cup, Scottish Open and numerous football fixtures in both the Central belt and the Highlands.
