The aim of this progress inspection, undertaken jointly by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland (HMICS) and Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS), was to assess progress made on a healthcare improvement action plan put in place following a full inspection of the custody centres in Argyll and West Dunbartonshire in May 2024. The progress inspection had an emphasis on governance arrangements relating to Oban police custody centre, as well as oversight structures for healthcare provision.
