Complaints about Police Scotland

Since 1 April 2013 the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) has been responsible for reviewing complaints about the police in Scotland. If you remain unhappy having made your complaint to Police Scotland, you can contact the PIRC to request a review:

Complaints about Biometrics
Should your complaint relate to your biometric data (image, fingerprints, DNA) being held by Police Scotland, the Scottish Police Authority, or the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner — where you have been arrested, or where your biometrics data has been taken because you are a victim, suspect, or witness — you can complain to the Scottish Biometrics Commissioner.
